Lil Wayne goes to jail today, heading to Riker's Island following a guilty plea for gun possession. Lil Wayne is expected to begin serving time immediately after sentencing. After Lil Wayne goes to jail, though, we'll still be hearing from him if his record label, Cash Money, has its way. Lil Wayne will be serving his sentence in the city jail system, as opposed to state or federal prison, hence "Lil Wayne goes to jail", and not "Lil Wayne goes to prison". No word if Lil Wayne will have to get his hair cut off for jail.
We should still expect to hear new Lil Wayne mixtapes, even if Weezy ends up serving his entire sentence, which will be up to a year; good behavior would see Lil Wayne out in eight months.
